Yezelalem Minch Children and Community Development (YMCCD) is a local, non-profit, non-governmental organization that seeks to provide comprehensive care for orphaned and vulnerable children, along with community capacity enhancement so as to minimize the vulnerability of orphaned children. YMCCD currently operates in three sub cities of Addis Ababa, as well as in four branch offices located in suburb towns in the surrounding Oromia region – Sebeta, Alem Gena, Holeta, and Menagesha. There are over 1,500 children registered in the YMCCD program in total.
Our mission is to see that all orphaned and vulnerable children are cared for – becoming healthy, educated, emotionally stable, productive and valuable citizens to their country, and growing to serve their community.
YMCCD is committed to improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children by providing integrated health, education and psychosocial support working in partnership with community based, governmental and non-governmental organizations in Addis Ababa, Oromia, Amhara, and other regions.
